What are Wonderful Whistler Getaways for Couples?

1. Take Off in a Private Helicopter for Two

There’s nothing more romantic than soaring over gorgeous mountains, lakes, volcanoes, and rainforest in a private helicopter. Enjoy spectacular views and even a Glacier Landing – which may or may not be a wonderful place to propose, *hint hint*.

2. Challenge Each Other to Axe Throwing

Forged Axe Throwing is one of the best date night activities in Whistler. Challenge your better half to a game and see who has the better arm. We suggest that the loser buys the post-game round of beers.

3. Learn About the Land You’re Visiting at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center

Educate yourselves about Whistler’s Indigenous culture at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center. You’ll be able to discover history about the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations as well as how they continue to live in close relationship with the world around us.

4. Take a Relaxing Breather at the Scandinave Spa

Take a break from reality and soak in the wonder that is The Scandinave Spa. The spot allows locals and tourists alike to get away from the everyday stress and relax through both hot and cold features. Spend your day rotating through eucalyptus steam baths, wood-burning saunas, Nordic waterfalls, cold plunge baths, hammocks, solariums, and more.

5. Get Athletic on an Olympic Racetrack.

The Whistler Sliding Center will have the two of you feeling like Olympians. Try out the Summer Bobsleigh together or go solo with a public skeleton ride which will have you gliding through six corners and clock speeds up to 100 kilometres per hour.

6. Go on an Evening Walk Through an Enchanted Forest

Locals and visitors alike will tell you that there’s nothing quite like Vallea Lumina. The unique twilight expedition will bring you through interactive forests following the journey of two bold travellers who uncovered the secrets of the woods.

7. Adventure on a RZR

Not quite an ATV and not quite a Jeep, a RZR is a perfect in-between. All you need is a valid driver’s licence, closed-toed shoes, and big smiles as you whip through the trees, dirt, and muddy rainforest.

8. Explore the Treetops Through an Adrenaline-Filled Zipline

Swoosh through the trees and plummet together down Cougar Mountain with Superfly Ziplines. Their longest available zip line runs 1.3 kilometres, is over 200 meters high, and will have you both travelling at speeds over 100 kilometres an hour.

9. Explore One of Whistler’s Many Lakes

Take a day to explore Whistler’s lakes and beaches by bike or on foot via the Valley Trail. Pick between Alpha Lake, Nita Lake, Alta Lake, Lost Lake, or Green Lake. This summer, you don’t have to worry about finding parking by enjoying the free transit around the city through September 6 on weekends and holidays.

10. Face Your Fears by Tandem Bungee Jumping

What better way to fall deeper in love than by falling off a 300-foot bridge together? Go tandem bungee jumping and hug each other close as you plummet above the glacier-fed Cheakamus River.

11. Dine Together on a Luxurious Food Tour

The best way to the heart is through the belly with food, of course. Pick between a lunch food tour, fine dining food tour, or hidden gem tour, all of which last around three to four hours and include visits and tastes at some spectacular local restaurants.

What are You Waiting For?

Regardless of which couples activities and restaurants you choose to enjoy in Whistler, you’re bound to have a great time.

British Columbia is currently in Step 3 of the COVID-19 restart plan, meaning that the Face Coverings Order under the Emergency Programs Act has been lifted, and no proof of vaccination is needed. Although most of the city has reopened, several restaurants and tours have continued implementing guidelines o ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.

That being said, Summer is the best time to enjoy Whistler and all of the fantastic things packed within.
