The Ultimate Guide to a Whistler New Years Eve 2023

People holding sparklers and glasses on champagne, warm tones

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. So it’s time to start planning your accommodation, where you want to celebrate, and the perfect cocktail to say farewell to 2022.

Whistler has some of the most exciting events and activities to help you welcome 2023, from family-friendly events to lively dance parties.

Hot Tip: Book Accommodations. NOW.

A Whistler New Year’s Eve draws people in from all over. While we typically overflow with boutique hotels and budget accommodations, pricing and availability change drastically this time of year.

Get your credit card out and make accommodation bookings as soon as possible. At the time of writing (Dec 2022), the cheapest hotel room in Whistler on Expedia for Dec 31st is $899.

Hotels book out in advance for NYE. Because of this, most will have a minimum night stay, which is usually three nights.

But have no fear if you haven’t booked anything yet — we put the Forged Axe Throwing team on the job to find out if any deals are going on that only a local would know.

Affordable Hotels Options in Whistler this NYE?

  • Visiting with a friend? Book a room with two beds. The Crystal Lodge is offering their Crystal Queen for $1200 a night, or $600 each. We recommend you book it soon — this deal is too good to ignore.
  • The Pangea Pod Hotel is located in the heart of the village, offering rates of $199 a night for New Year’s Eve. It sounds like a deal to us if you’re okay with sleeping in a pod.
  • Booking accommodation outside the Whistler Village is also a good idea over New Year’s Eve as buses are free on the 31st so you can get around safely and quickly.

What About AirBnB?

At the same time, we did a quick search on Airbnb, and there is nothing available for the weekend of the 31st.

So if you still need to book a room, it’s time to do so now!

Maury Young Arts Centre

Down the stroll, the Maury Young Arts Centre (MYAC) put on an NYE event for kids, including a New Year’s Ball Drop.
