How to Plan the Best Bachelor Party in Whistler

A world-famous ski resort and vacation destination, Whistler has long been a go-to playground for adults. Whether you’re looking for a trip filled with outdoor adventure, world class dining, or wild nightlife, planning a Whistler bachelor party is a world full of possibilities.

With no shortage of things to do for a bachelor party, the most difficult part is narrowing down the options that are right for you and your group. From bungee jumping, axe throwing, and snowmobiling, to pub crawls and V.I.P experiences, your Whistler bachelor party is bound to be a trip you’ll never forget.

Bachelor Party Tip #1 – Plan in Advance

Whistler suits all budgets and interests in one compact, fun-loving place. One of the most important tips we can give you when it comes to planning a whistler bachelor party is to figure out your activities ahead of time.

Spontaneously getting a group of 20 into clubs, adventure tours, or restaurants can lead to disappointment. Even in the slow season, there are still thousands of people visiting Whistler. So our first tip for your bachelor party is to plan out what you want to do and book it before you arrive.

Bachelor Party Tip #2 – Stay in the Ideal Location

Some bachelor parties are for chilling; maybe you and your buddies just want to hang out by a lake in a quiet location. If so, track down an AirBnB in one of Whistler’s neighbourhoods outside of the Village, many of them are within walking distance of beautiful lakes like Alta Lake, Lost Lake, or Rainbow Park.

If you’ve come to Whistler to take in all the Village has to offer, stay in a prime location like the Chateau Whistler, a first-class option you’ll appreciate when you’re nursing that morning hangover. There are also plenty of hotels around the Village with a more modest price tag and come in handy when bar-hopping is high on the Whistler bachelor party to-do list.

Bachelor Party Tip #3 – Party at Bars that Cater to Bachelor Parties

The party starts right after the hill !

If it’s a crazy night you’re looking for, Whistler has had decades of experience to get it right. Thanks to the laid back atmosphere, young locals, and a tradition of letting loose when you step into the Village, your night out in Whistler can be anything you want to make it.

As a Whistler bachelor party is such a common occurrence (after all, it’s a perfect location for it), bars like the Longhorn Saloon and Grill can reserve a table for your large group and have shots waiting for you. Often featuring DJs during the ski and mountain biking season, the Longhorn is a great place to turn to for apres drinks and to get the party started.

For a more pub-oriented atmosphere, the Dubh Linn Gate is another great spot for a big bachelor group party. Locals hang out here too because the vibe is warm, rowdy, and they feature live music on weekends.

If you are looking to dance away the last days of singledom, Moe Joe’s has long been the place to get your party on in Whistler. A cousin to Whistler’s largest venue, Garfinkel’s, both nightclubs feature local and international DJs and offer guest lists in advance to avoid standing in line.

Bachelor Party Tip #4 – Let Them Plan the Party For You

If you want a deal on a full night of party fun, for $89 per person, Bar Hop Whistler helps take the guesswork out of your big bachelor party night out. They make it easy to get around, allowing you to bypass lineups and cover charges on the tour, and include five free drinks and a pizza dinner, with bottle service available as an add-on.

For those who want a concierge to ease the experience of planning things to do for a bachelor party, there are services in Whistler including Stag Party Whistler, The Bachelor Plan, or Carte Blanche that can take care of everything for you. With experiences ranging from poker nights to adventure weekend packages and VIP evenings with dream girls, your Whistler bachelor party can be anything you want it to be.

Bachelor Party Tip #5 – Go Local

There are a lot of cool experiences that locals do that are rarely frequented by visitors. A favourite summer pastime includes taking inflatable boats or paddle boards down the River of Golden Dreams. It’s a serene way to begin your day because, let’s face it, you’ll need a little respite before the night begins.

There’s also a disc golf course (pssst, it’s located in Brio) that’s a lot more open to bachelor party shenanigans than the Chateau Whistler Golf Course (you know, all the yelling and beer-gunning). If you’re a bunch of refined gentlemen, however, there are a few excellent world class courses in the area.

Bachelor Party Tip #6 – Capture the Moments in a Nontraditional Way

As a cool way to document your Whistler bachelor party, hire a local photographer. They likely know some great places for you and your group or can catch all the candids you won’t want to forget.

Way better than focusing on setting up to take a group photo, this style of photography keeps the momentum going and leaves you with high-resolution memories at a time when your own photography skills can get a little tipsy.

Bachelor Party Tip #7 – Introduce a Little Healthy Competition

Let’s face it, when guys get together, they tend to compete with one another. Since there isn’t any way to avoid it, may we recommend some ways to embrace it during your bachelor party?

Axe throwing brings out your inner lumberjack, and at Forged Axe Throwing, we welcome big, boisterous groups with open arms. This super chill space now features a selection of beers and other alcoholic beverages to get the party going, and allow everyone to mingle and learn to throw an axe with style at the same time.

Book the whole whistler venue for an EPIC axe throwing event!

Another great pre-game option is to work together to escape – no, not the upcoming marriage but through the Escape Room! Whistler’s Escape Room is a way to bond with your brothers as you work against the clock to make your way out of a series of rooms, puzzles, and interactive challenges.

Bachelor Party Tips #8 – Add in Heart-Stopping Adventures

Nothing says a bachelor party in Whistler like a dose of adventure. From the mellow to the extreme, there are no shortage of outdoor activities for you and your friends, including:

Bungee jumping in Whistler

Don’t be shy, take a leap of faith at Whistler Bungee with a loved one!

  • Whistler Bungee: To bungee jump as a metaphor for the buddy who’s taking that plunge into a new life, it’s fitting, isn’t it? Whistler Bungee offers an epic natural backdrop while you drop down into oblivion.
  • Superfly Ziplines: Ziplining on Cougar Mountain is another great way to hang with your brothers and see the pristine forests that surround Whistler.
  • Blackcomb Helicopters: For an incredible Whistler splurge, taking a helicopter with your group up to surrounding glaciers is bound to be an adventure you’ll never forget. Choose between heli-boarding/skiing or sightseeing, and there are even ice caves you can tour while tramping around on the top of the world.
  • Canadian Wilderness Adventures: Offering everything from snowmobile tours to ATV rides, dog sledding tours, side-by-side adventures, or even steak dinners and mountaintop fondue, Canadian Wilderness Adventures has options to make the most of any Whistler bachelor party.
  • Whistler Fishing Guides: For a more mellow group of gents, you can always go on a fishing excursion. Whistler may be well-known for its epic bachelor party options, but it’s also a pristine natural area.
  • Whistler Core Climbing and Fitness: It may seem odd to visit a gym during your bachelor party, but Whistler’s Core also offers indoor rock climbing during the winter and outdoor trips during the summer. It’s a fun way to explore a new sport in one of the world’s most sought-after climbing zones.
  • Squamish River Horse Adventures: For the bachelor who always wanted to be a cowboy, explore the incredible scenery of the Upper Squamish Valley. Locally owned and operated, Squamish offers trail riding the way it was meant to be.
  • Moto Experience Canada: For smaller, motorcycle-enthusiast groups, why not plan the moto adventure of a lifetime? Located in Pemberton, just north of Whistler, Moto Experience Canada will take you on a curated and guided adventure either on or off road.

Bachelor Party Tip #9 – Plan Transportation in Advance

luxury private taxi

A private vehicle hire is a excellent option for large, possible rowdy, stags.

When making your way to Whistler from the airport there are several options. From shuttles like Whistler Connection, YVR Skylynx or Epic Rides, to hiring private cars or limos, you have a variety of options and price ranges to choose from getting to Whistler and your bachelor party started off right.

When it comes to getting around once you’ve arrived, however, it can be challenging, competing with many other tourists in a small but world-renowned resort town. While there is public transit during the day, it does not run all night, and taxis can often be particularly difficult to hail once the bars have emptied.

For a simple solution, choosing accommodations that are either within walking distance to the village or that include a complimentary shuttle can be a game-changer. Otherwise, there are companies like Whistle taxi and rideshare for when the cab loop lineups are extreme (near the village gate bus station).

Make Your Bachelor Party the Adventure of a Lifetime

Hopefully fueled with a little bachelor party inspiration, you are ready to plan the big weekend with the boys. Like always, book your activities in advance to ensure your Whistler bachelor party doesn’t miss a beat.

From the distinguished gentleman seeking a golf trip and mountain top steak dinner, to the party animals looking for a weekend they can’t remember but won’t forget, there are things to do on a Whistler bachelor party for anyone and everyone.
